BYU classroom experience............

BYU has great classroom atmosphere....I am taking 4 courses this semester....

Chem 105 is fun...Dr Lamb is awesome.....We have i clicker quizzes in the class. The class is huge and lectures are accompanied by presentations in class....As a new course commences, Dr lamb doesnt wait to clear the concepts with videos,animations....Three lectures and two days a week we have ..... two days a week, learning community exercises..Great for practicing questions..

Regarding computer science......the class iss big....Power point presentation.......Java is tough.

Tips for international students to get into BYU........

here's my experience and a list of my application records.........

I had a list of colleges/universities that I would apply for. In total, I applied to 8 colleges/universities and got accepted to 4. MSU, BYU,Coe college, University of wisconsin-superior.....Loras and cornell I dint make it.... I was down to two universities MSU, BYU... ...i didnt know which to choose ...It all depended on how much scholarship I would receive.

Luckily I got half tution from BYU and chose BYU..........

Start applying early....Go right away to http://www.besmart.com/. And set up your account there. You ll get BYU net ID and password...Complete right away part 1 and part 2 of your application.....

For part 3...Take a print out of the endorsement form and go to your temple or church to receive the signature from the priest or church bishop...Complete part 6. ..Take out bank statement and complete part 8.

The rest you have, are the most important parts of this application process.

1)High school report
2) SAT(I got 1290)
3) TOEFL(IBT 94)
4)Student essay

The essay is the deciding factor... I spent about a month or so just preparing for the essay......Take a page ...find a quite room...peaceful place and then reflect upon what matters to you the most in life, some inspiring moments, how you overcame a unique but difficult obstacle..and do lots of drafts.....For grammers you can google some sites that help you with your grammers and structures of your essays.

Also do include some supporting materials....Since I had no extra curricular records...I met my school counselor and talked to him, requested him to make me a strong recommendation letter...
I added 4 recommendation letters...one from counselor and 3 from teachers

Do consider this point....As the year passes, I guess, applying and getting admitted to the college of your choice may become tougher and tougher......When I was applying BYU the acceptance rate was pretty high 75% I think, Now it has shrinked to 68%....So has its ranking changed from 112 to 71.

Take every part of your application elements seriously...

Testing centre..........

BYU has a testing center where you go to take majority of your exams. Its a cool building.....You give your exam, and before you exit the building you get to see your scores right away giving assurance to your effort....The scores get posted on the screen.......

The daily life at BYU may seem mundane to someone But for me thats what i enjoy..........While you enter BYU you will see a big sign on the side of the road stating "Enter to learn, go forth to serve".....That's what literally is inside BYU.....

.BYU strives its best to make its students occupy every single instance of their time in some reasonable work ......To make students practice the materials they learn....BYU has lots of activities and plans in consideration........You ave online quizzes, reading quizzess, classroom iclicker activities, online homeworks, paper homeworks, and yes....per semester you can expect to have 3 major exams...But that depends on your course....

But,thats not to say you dont have fun here....It all depends on you....And how you mangae your time.....Even in the most hectic time around the year, people seem to allocate time for fun...For fun, you have tons of activities ....and thats another part of BYU experience which deserves next post.....
